The German Jordanian University (GJU) ranked (759) globally and third locally in the Scimago global ranking of educational institutions for the year 2021.

Scimago conducts a neutral ranking for the universities annually based on three main pillars of evaluation by allocating 50% for scientific research, 30% for innovation, and 20% for societal impact.

The research ranking refers to the volume, impact and quality of the institution's research output. The innovation ranking is calculated on the number of patent applications of the institution and the citations that its research output receives from patents. Finally, the societal ranking is based on the number of pages of the institution's website and the number of backlinks and mentions from social networks.

The President of GJU, Prof. Manar Fayyad, emphasized that this achievement reflects GJU's strong commitment to international academic cooperation with German educational and industrial institutions.

Fayyad expressed her pride in GJU's ranking, thanking the academic and administrative members, in addition to the students, for their commitment and contributions to this achievement.

For his part, the Director of the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Department (QAAD) at GJU, Dr. Murad Al-Samhouri, stated that the university entered the classification for the fourth year in a row.

He said that the university is working on obtaining accreditation of the German Accreditation Council according to European standards for education to its programs, which will benefit GJU graduates abroad.
