The School of Applied Medical Sciences (SAMS) at the German Jordanian University (GJU) organized a welcome gathering for new students for the 2026/2027 academic year, attended by more than 120 students. The gathering aimed to introduce students to the School, its academic programs and services, familiarize them with available educational and training opportunities, support their integration into university life, and honor academically outstanding students.
Dr. Ziad Abu El-Rub, Dean of the School of Applied Medical Sciences, reaffirmed the School’s commitment to providing a stimulating learning environment that combines academic excellence, applied education, research, and innovation, thereby preparing graduates with the knowledge and skills needed to compete in local and international labor markets.
The Dean encouraged new students to remain committed to their studies, communicate regularly with academic advisors, begin learning German early, participate in student activities and projects, uphold academic integrity, and use artificial intelligence tools responsibly.
The gathering introduced students to the School’s academic programs in the Departments of Biomedical Engineering and Pharmaceutical and Chemical Engineering, as well as its academic and administrative staff and the academic advising and support services available to them. It also highlighted practical training and academic exchange opportunities, the German Year, partnerships with universities and industrial institutions, and success stories of graduates working at international institutions and companies.
The event outlined the School’s priorities for the coming period, including advancing applied education and research, integrating artificial intelligence into education and medical applications, expanding international cooperation, and developing laboratories and educational facilities. An open dialogue between students and the School’s administration provided an opportunity to raise questions and discuss academic matters, university life, and available opportunities.
The program concluded with SAMS honoring academically outstanding students from the 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 cohorts in both departments, in recognition of their achievements during the 2025/2026 academic year and to encourage them to continue striving for excellence.
“The welcome gathering reflects GJU’s commitment to providing an enriching learning environment that combines theoretical knowledge, practical application, and innovation, while recognizing student achievements and encouraging continued academic excellence.”
