On Tuesday, January 7, 2020, the President of the German Jordanian University (GJU), Prof. Manar Fayyad in the presence of the Vice President Prof. Atef Kharabsheh, discussed with the General Director of the Association International Coordination Mediterranean Local Authorities (CIELM) in Italy and the representative of the Public Agency Acqua Bene Comune (Water Commons) in Napoli Municipality Giacomo Serafini, ways of joint cooperation in the field of water, energy and the vital system.

The two parties discussed cooperation in conducting joint studies, scientific and experimental research on environmental safety issues, sustainability, climate change, soil and toxicology. In addition to environmental and personal hygiene problems, integrated management of surface and groundwater resources, the use of technology in the complete water cycle, water resources management, environmental sectors, food and agriculture.

During the meeting,, which was attended by the Dean of Graduate Studies, Dr. Munjed  Al-Sharif, and a member of the School of Natural Resources Engineering and Management, Dr. Muhammad Al-Adous, the two sides agreed to start holding dialogue sessions ending with signing a memorandum of understanding and building joint projects in coordination with the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of Water and Irrigation, and the Ministry of Agriculture.

According to the memorandum intended to be signed, joint projects will be proposed and funding will be obtained from donors to implement them to serve the community, the water sector and to achieve sustainable development goals in Jordan.
