“Energy Smart Mediterranean School Network-ESMES”
In the framework of ENI CBC Med Program, the German Jordanian University (GJU) in Jordan has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Ministry of Education (MoE) in Jordan on the 13th of January 2021.
The MOU is the framework establishing the responsibilities of the GJU and MoE to guarantee the successful completion of the ESMES project goals.
ESMES will focus on the optimization of energy consumption in public schools through innovative, monitoring-based renewable energy and energy efficiency (REEE) pilot actions and will improve the capacity of 5 public institutions in order to implement innovative energy rehabilitation.
ESMES is part of the ENI CBC Med Programme, the largest multilateral initiative for cross-border cooperation (CBC) in the Mediterranean area. The Programme has a budget of €209 million, is funded by the European Union under the European Neighbourhood Instrument (ENI) and managed by the Autonomous Region of Sardinia (Italy).
