The National Electric Power Co NEPCO and the German Jordanian University (GJU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation in specialized studies in the Jordanian electrical system, development, and capacity building through training programs that prepare students for the labor market.

The MoU was signed by the Director-General of NEPCO, Eng. Amjad Al-Rawashdeh, and the President of the GJU, Prof. Ala'aldeen Al-Halhouli.

Prof. Al-Halhouli stressed the importance of the scientific research and development process, which benefits and strengthens the partnership between both sides.

He also mentioned the importance of the Energy Academy, which was recently announced with a Jordanian-German partnership, and its impact on upgrading Jordan's technical capabilities, pointing out that the university has extensive partnerships with German universities and companies that provide their expertise to the GJU students of the German Jordanian University.

Engineer Al-Rawashdeh said that the MoU allows the use of software, equipment, devices, and data available to the two parties to conduct more specialized studies in the Jordanian electrical system and its development. It also includes extracurricular activities such as holding joint conferences, workshops, publishing research papers and scientific articles for both parties to various authorities locally and internationally.
