On Wednesday the 13th of July 2016 with the initiative  of the German Jordanian University (GJU)  Memorandum of Understanding signed with several significance  institutions, the National Council for Family Affairs(NCFA), Institute for Family Health- Noor Al Hussein Foundation( IFH ), and Caritas.

The  pioneer Memos  are aiming at exchanging significant technical and thematic expertise in humanitarian mapping to generate solutions, conducting studies and research  , organizing training courses in social work field . In addition to developing the curriculum  of the Professional Diploma Program “Migration and Refugees”  and any future academic programs within the needs of the national labor market. Stressing on both bridging academic with practice,  and  implement evidence based practice that produced by the organizations into the teaching curriculum.

The MoUs were signed by the President of the University, Professor Natheer Abu Obeid on behalf of GJU,  and H.E  Fadel Alhmoud on behalf of the National Council for Family Affairs and Mr. Wael Sulaiman on behalf of Caritas , Dr. Ibrahim Aqel on behalf of the Executive Director of Institute for Family Health- Noor Al Hussein Foundation Ms. Hana Mitri Shahin.

The MOU stipulates that all sides in cooperation with GJU will provide students with the opportunity to gain the social and cultural experience on the ground through involving them in the volunteering initiatives with the refugees and contributing to their community, as well as improving the student’s capabilities and skills.

Professor. Natheer Abu Obeid stressed the importance of cooperating with such a humanitarian organizations that can provide GJU students with the social work experience and engage them in the field and being humanitarian practitioners to gain new skills that will help them operate effectively. 

The signing was attended by the Vice President of GJU for International Affairs Prof. Dorit Schumann, Dean of the SAHL Dr. Jochen Pleines , Vice Dean of SAHL Dr. Reem Rabadi , and Dr. Sahar Makhamreh , Migration and Refugees Program, well as representatives from NCFA, IFH  and Caritas.
