As part of the cooperation between GJU and Mixed Dimensions, the Office for Industrial Links, Program Innovation & Entrepreneurship (PIE) and the School of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies organized a field visit to Mixed Dimensions on the 18th of May. The company is one of the fastest growing startups in Jordan focusing on developing software for 3D printing. The purpose of the visit was to strengthen the collaboration between the university and the company as well as to show an example of the workplace environment the students.

The visit started with Ms. Rawand Madi who introduced the company’s objectives to the participants. She explained Hackatari, which is the company’s innovation program. It focuses on strengthening the linkages between the company and universities to attract fresh graduates and to support conducting innovative projects.

The company mainly provides software to make 3D designs printable. They also plan to provide a consumer tool that enables gamers to 3D print a specific gameplay moment. Currently GamePrint is still in the development phase.

Mohammad Misto introduced the story of 3D printing, the growth of the market and technologies and several methods of printing. In addition to that he depicted positive and negative characteristics of 3D printing in general and the various methods of 3D printing.

One of the staff members Bara Abu Shaqra, who graduated from GJU, talked to the participants about his work at Mixed Dimensions and his experiences within the company. Following that the participants visited the different departments of the company and discussed with the young staff.
