The German Jordanian University (GJU) students Alexandra Al far and Tala Al Salhi from Department of Design and Visual Communication- School of Architecture and the Built Environment (SABE) won the first prizes in the Arab Student StarPack Competition 2018.

Alexandra Al far won the first prize for  Visual Packaging category, while Tala Al Salhi won also the first prize for Save the Food category, supervised by Arch. Rawan Majzoub

The Competition was held at the chamber of commerce Industry of Beirut which was organized by United Nations Industrial Organization “UNIDO” and LibanPack.

 The Arab StarPack competition provides students in the region with a priceless opportunity to unleash their creativity and Innovation, and make a positive impact on Industries, the competition is considered an important platform for young generation and Industrialists, and will contribute to foster packaging design in the Arab World.

Twelve Arabic countries participated in the competition including Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia, Palestine, Jordan, Morocco, Sultanate of Oman, Yemen, Iraq, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, where 827 applications were submitted; 28 of whom won prizes.

The competition included a prize from UNIPACK from INDEVCO Group in Lebanon, the Bank of Lebanon Award and the Pioneer Foundation Award in Sultanate of Oman.
