The International Office (IO) at the German Jordanian University (GJU) organized a welcome meeting for incoming students from 23 partner universities (21 in Germany, 1 in Austria, and 1 in Switzerland) to study different specializations at the university for the first semester 2020/2021.

The meeting was attended by the President of GJU,  Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, the Vice President for International Affairs, Prof. Ralf Rosskopf, the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Thelal Oweis, the Director of the Office for Industrial Links (OIL) Britta Kähler,, and the International Office team.

Dr. Al-Halhouli welcomed the students, saying that one of the most core elements of the German Jordanian University is the multiple partnerships with German universities that include academic and cultural exchange and allow students from both sides to learn and integrate with other cultures, study, and practice the language.

Al-Halhouli urged the students to live the university experience, especially with the start of the university semester inside the university campus, mixing with university students and getting to know more about Jordan and its culture.

For his part, Rosskopf, asked the students to use their time wisely during their stay in Jordan and be role models for their country, stressing the importance of following the prevention and safety measures in Jordan.

Stefanie Kirsch, the Director of the IO, encouraged the students to explore the country, make new friends. In addition, she introduced them to the IO and OIL teams, general rules, and regulations at GJU.
