The German Language Center (GLC) at the German Jordanian University (GJU) held the second semiannual German Year Event at the main campus Madaba in the presence of the Jordanian Vice President, Prof. Malek Alsharairi.

Dr. Alsharairi highlighted the unique character of the German Jordanian University, represented by the compulsory German Year and praised the leading role of the early focusing on German language development in successfully shaping university life and practical life after graduation.

Dr. Alsharairi spoke about how choosing a university goes beyond selecting a specialization as it's a learning journey aimed at finding the right place that equips students with skills and competencies to conform to the competitive labour market.

In addition, GJU alumni Ru'a Sahsah, Sima Sunna, Dana Khushman and Mohammad Almohtaseb shared their first-hand experiences and success stories with the students and expressed how the German Year offered them excellent opportunities for professional and personal development in a multicultural atmosphere.

They pointed out the importance of focusing on German language development from the beginning and how this has positively impacted their chances of finding internships in the German companies, which has led to a very unique and successful experiences.

The International Office Department took part in the event and presented their roles and tasks in preparing and supporting the students for and during the German Year. At the end, GJU alumni answered the students’ questions and concerns.
