Following up on a previously signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a strategic partnership with the German Jordanian University (GJU), the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt visited GJU for intensive talks on running and future collaboration projects.

The meetings, which were attended by the President of GJU, Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli and The President of FHWS, Prof. Robert Grebner focused on the establishment of three hosted programs in the field of Hydrogen Technology, Robotics and Social Work. The respective Memorandum of Understanding was signed in presence of Germany’s Vice Chancellor and Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection, H.E. Dr. Robert Habeck.

The talks also covered the close collaboration in the fields of mechatronics, business analytics, architecture and design. In Computer Science and Computer Engineering, special Dual Studies tracks are envisioned that would connect GJU students to a German company for three semesters in Germany and would guarantee them a monthly salary already during this time.

 Prof. Grebner, had the opportunity to meet with  the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, H.E. Prof Wajih Owais, to discuss the idea of establishing the hosted programs in the fields of Hydrogen Technology, Robotics and Social Work where both welcomed the initiative.

The FHWS delegation was impressed by the academic quality of GJU and its faculty. The members expressed their intention to extend the existing close cooperation in several fields, and overwhelmed by the impressions they got related to the potential in education and research but also the hospitality of the Jordanian society and the beautiful Jordanian landscapes.
