On Tuesday, June 18, 2019, representatives of AIRBUS- France visited the German Jordanian University in the presence of Vice President, Prof. Atef Kharabsheh, academic members and students.

This visit comes within an agreement with Crown Prince Foundation to train Jordanian engineering students at Airbus International headquarters in the French city of Toulouse for a period of five months. During the training, students will be involved in advanced training programs determined by the company under the supervision of specialized experts and will participate in the implementation and application of scientific and practical research in the fields of engineering aviation and navigational systems and simulation.

AIRBUS representatives introduced the company stating that AIRBUS is an international reference in the aerospace sector, where they design, manufacture and deliver industry-leading commercial aircraft, helicopters, military transports, satellites, and launch vehicles, as well as providing data services, navigation, secure communications, urban mobility and other solutions for customers on a global scale.

They explained the internship program's terms and conditions, key requirements, deadlines, and interviews. They also invited the students to participate in Fly Your Ideas (FYI) Competition. FYI challenges students worldwide to innovate for the future of aerospace in six key areas: electrification, data services, cybersecurity, internet of things, artificial intelligence, and mixed reality.

At the end of the session, a short video was presented containing trainees’ testimonials including GJU’s student Mai Saadeh – the School of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (SEEIT) who is currently enrolled in the program in France.
