On Wednesday, February 19, 2020, the Ambassador of Iraq in Jordan Haider Al-Athari accompanied by the Consul Khaled AL-Khaizaran and Cultural Attaché Dr. Haidar Zaidan visited the German Jordanian University (GJU) and met with the President of GJU Prof. Manar Fayyad and the Vice President Dr. Atef Kharabsheh.

The two parties discussed ways of cooperation, as Fayyad presented a brief about the university’s establishment and vision in providing distinguished technical education that simulates the German model in applied sciences.

In addition to that, she pointed out to the university's programs, specializations and to the German year in which students are going in the penultimate year to Germany for a full year in order to study in one of the German partner universities, and obtain training opportunities in German companies or factories.

The ambassador and the accompanying delegation met the Iraqi students, where Al-Athari expressed his happiness and appreciation to GJU, the achievements of the Iraqi students, their superiority and the extent of their commitment to the university's laws and regulations.

Stressing that the Iraqi embassy and the cultural attaché are constantly looking towards constructive cooperation with the university to overcome all the challenges facing Iraqi students.

At the end of the meeting, which was attended by the Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Raed Khasawneh, a discussion took place with the students about the embassy support for students, such as scholarships and job opportunities after graduation.
