The School of Architecture and Built Environment participated in a collaborative conference between the German Jordanian University and Bauhaus University- Weimar; entitled “Post war cities” that took place in the Bauhaus University- Weimar.

The Minister of Human Protection and Migration of the state of Thüringen in Germany has opened the conference that was attended by experts and students from Germany and the Middle East. From SABE, the School of Architecture and Built Environment, several staff members along with Master’s students have had scientific contributions that reflect their ongoing research fields along with thesis proposal preparations by the master students of the Spatial Planning at the Department of Architecture.

The conference aimed to set up a network that researches the reconciliation and rebuilding of post war cities. Some of the important topics presented in the conference were lessons learnt from rebuilding German cities after the World War II, the impact of the Syrian war on Jordan and presenting various ideas for rebuilding Syrian cities.

The goal of the conference was to create an international scientific platform for ideas and research exchange that would enrich the discussion of the topic as well as intensifies the cooperation between the universities.
