As part of the activities of the MedScapes project, a scientific day was organized on Nov. 17th at the Faculty of Architecture at the Jordan University for Science and Technology (JUST). The purpose of this activity was to introduce the tertiary educational material, which was developed as part of this project at the German Jordanian University.

Prof. Nizar Abu-Jaber, the head of the Center for the Study of Natural and Cultural Heritage and team leader for the project at GJU gave an overview of the material that covers issues of sustainability, resiliency, landscape evolution, land use, the MedScapes project and Landscape Character Assessment (LCA).

The event was attended by the Vice Dean of Architecture, the head of the department of architecture, faculty members and about 30 masters students in urban design and architecture as well as undergraduate students. A lively discussion about the material and the project ensued, and a number of students expressed interest in a further LCA training course.
