The German Jordanian University and Greater Amman Municipality have agreed on Memorandum of Understanding on enhanced Cooperation between the two parties.

 

The Memo  was signed by the Mayor of Greater Amman Municipality, His Excellency Mr. Aqel Beltaji and GJU’s president Prof. Natheer Abu Obeid, in the presence of his Excellency Mr. Taher Al Masri; former Prime Minister, Her Excellency Prof. Johanna Wanka; Federal Minister of Education and Research, Prof. Labib Al Khadra; Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Jordan, his Excellency Mr. Ralph Tarraf; the German Ambassador to Jordan, the City Manager; Mr. Fawzi Massad, and a number of officials at GAM and Faculty Members of GJU.

 

The MoU states that both parties submit jointly proposals for cooperation in radio broadcasted Academic programs and extracurricular activities at Hawa Amman Radio Station, within the rules of the Radio Station, produced by GJU and under the supervision of the University’s Academic Staff and the Radio Station’s Technicians.

 

It also includes offering short training courses and a Diploma program in Media aiming to prepare journalists, broadcasters and Media workers within the rules of the University and according to the law of Higher Education. It also the functions, duties of the two parties, the administrative obligations on them and the legal responsibility to ensure the proper implementation of the Memorandum.

 

This MoU was preceded by many others signed between GJU and GAM relating to the revival of heritage in the city of Amman. Its’ latest was the restoration of the home of former Prime Minister; the late Ibrahim Hashim in Jabal Amman.

 

Knowing that the Memo was signed in the context of celebrating GJU’s 10th Anniversary and launching “Friends of GJU” Forum.
