On Tuesday, May 21, 2019, The German Jordanian University (GJU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Eastern Michigan University (EMU) in the United State of America in the fields of scientific, academic and research exchanges.

Under the MOU, which was signed by the President of GJU Prof. Manar Fayyad and the President of EMU Dr. James Smith, academic and student exchanges will be coordinated between the two universities. As well as work on joint educational, research and cultural projects. In addition to participate in various scientific conferences and activities.

During the meeting, Fayyad presented an overview of the university and the majors, noting that it was built in the same way as the German universities in Applied Sciences.

The Dean of the School of Applied Technical Sciences (SATS) Dr. Safwan Altarazi presented an overview of SATS and its programs, which is consisting: Mechanical and Maintenance Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering and Engineering Management.

He added that the university system is based on sending students in the penultimate year to Germany for one year to study at one of the German university partner, as well as getting training opportunities in German companies or factories.

For his part, Smith presented an overview of the EMU in terms of its schools, majors and programs as the second oldest university in Michigan.

He also stressed the importance of academic and students exchange to obtain more scientific and practical experiences.

The Dean of Mechanical Engineering and Technology School Dr. Mohamad Qatu at EMU presented is an overview of the school and its departments, noting to the advantages that the school and the university have.

The agreement, which was attended by the Dean of Applied Humanities and Languages School (SAHL) Dr. Alaaldeen Al-Halhouli, Vice Dean of SATS Dr. Nathir A. Rawashdeh, number of academic staff and the Director of Consultation and Training Center (CTC) Dr. Omar Shubailat, comes as a result to expand academic partnerships in order to develop multiple scientific and research aspects.
