German Jordanian University GJU and the Jordan Engineers Association JEA signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Tuesday 14/02/2014.

According to the MoU, GJU will participate in organizing the 9 th Jordan International Mechanical Engineering Conference that will be held from 17-19/ October/2017, the university is going to support the conference and encourage the academic staff from GJU and German universities abroad to participate in submitting scientific papers to the conference.

Prof. Natheer Abu Obeid, GJU’s president said that he is very proud of this collaboration, and it is considered to be as a reflection of the association’s trust of GJU especially that 60% of the students are studying engineering.

Abu Obeid also added that the university is looking for more activities and projects with the association professionally and educationally.

Engineer Majid AlTabba’a, President of JEA expressed his pride to join forces with GJU since it is one of the distinguished universities in the area. He added that this relationship forms strengths and advantages for both sides.

Engineer Mohammad Abu Afifeh, the Secretary General of the association said that it’s important to care about the quality of engineering education and train the students to compete in both national and international marketplace.

Engineer Raed AlSharbaji the Head of Mechanical Engineering spoke about the challenges in both national and international markets and asked to focus on raising the quality of the graduate students such as language and soft skills besides technical skills.

At the end of the meeting, both parties discussed the current demands to improve the experience of engineering students and ways of encouraging and spreading the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship projects.

Dean of Applied Technical Sciences School Dr. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, and a number of academic staff from GJU’s side attended the meeting as well.
