The German Jordanian University (GJU), signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation

(SDC), aims to create a safe and improved learning environment for public schools, children and staff.

According to the (MoU) students of the School of Architecture and Build Environment (SABE) at GJU, will conduct a field visits to selected schools and provide a smart designs and infrastructure rehabilitation as well as adequate management solutions.

Project Coordinator at SABE, Dr. Raed Al-Tal said that GJU’s participation in the project is a great opportunity for the students to practice what they learned at the school by designing and implementing their own ideas and solutions on the ground.

Students participating in the project cleared that this opportunity will provide them with a practical experience and allows them to contribute in serving the local community within international standards.

It’s worth mentioning that School Rehabilitation Project was launched in June 2012 with the Ministry of Education of Jordan, to assure a protective and safe educational environment for Public schools especially ones affected by the influx of refugees and display urgent needs of non- structural rehabilitation work.

 

Non- structural rehabilitation of infrastructure includes, repairing installation and sanitation units, windows and doors furnishing, refurbishing the paint and improving safety measures, playgrounds and installation of external umbrellas.
