German Jordanian University (GJU) signed a memorandum of understanding with Jordan Skills Standardization Organization (JSSO) in order to enhance cooperation in creating a sustainable mechanism for the industry to continue to influence the content of university curricula and training programs that support the ICT industry on 20th of  July, 2016.     

JSSO is  a program established in collaboration with the Information Technology Association of Jordan (int@j) and the support of the Jordanian competitive program (JCP) funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

The purpose of this Memorandum is to agree on a sustainable and a coordinated approach with the GJU that will lead to a continuous development cycle for reviewing curricula and embedding employability skills.

The memo was signed by the President of GJU Prof. Natheer Abu Obeid, on behalf of the university, and Mr. Nidal Bitar, the CEO of int@j in the presence of Mr. Ayad Al-Ashram JSSO Director, Prof. Manar Fayyad , Vice President, Dr. Sahel Alawneh , Dean of School of Electrical Engineering and Ms. Britta Kähler, Director of Office for Industrial Links.

JSSO shall provide GJU advice, guidance and support regarding international best practices for curricula review including occupational profile alignment that incorporates appropriate competence skills required by industry. In return GJU shall conduct a curricula review with JSSO assistance of appropriate ICT qualifications that can be aligned to an occupational profile that reflects appropriate competencies and skills for employment, and incorporate the necessary changes.

Regarding the graduation projects, both sides shall cooperate to identify potential graduation project topics in cooperation with industrial partners to undergraduate students and master thesis topics one month before the beginning of the academic year.
