The German Jordanian University in coordination with Magdeburg Stendal Hochschule and The German Academic Exchange Service DAAD organized a Network Conference, where a number of GJU Partners from Germany been gathered on Tuesday, 21 February 2017 at the GJU  campus.

The Network Conference is mainly aims to gather representatives from the Network partners of GJU, exchange ideas and work together on issues of common concern, and work on making this conference an annual conference to pursue the developments and achievements, stimulate the partners to co-operate in different projects, establishing and working on a joint programs and stimulating bilateral exchanges even more.

Professor Natheer Abu Obeid, the GJU President welcomed all the guests, and asserted that the university is very grateful for all German friends for their continuous help and support, making this university an educational institution that has a uniqueness among its peers in the region. 

President gave the audience a brief about the work that has been done by university in the last few years, the projects and new established programs. He also gave an overview about the GJU different committees, specifying the role of each committee in covering and evaluating the university development and performance, using his usual expression “GJU is working like a German Machine”.

For her part, Prof. Anne Lequy, Rector and Project Director at UAS Magdeburg-Stendal, said that in the past 10 years, GJU has become very successful educational project and very successful bilateral project between Germany and Jordan.   

She spoke about the close cooperation between Magdeburg office team and GJU team and their productive work, saying that they are very proud of all the achievements that have been done in the past, and that they are focusing now on improving and strengthen this deep cooperation.  

Isabell Mering, Head of Section Transnational Education Projects in the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) , expressed her delight to meet a distinguished staff at an excellent university in the middle east , speaking about  the establishment of GJU , and how  such an exceptional bilateral educational institution has succeeded only because of the dedication and commitment that have been shown by both sides the German and Jordanian.  

It is worthy to mention the German universities partners who participated in the conference, Hochschule RheinMain  , Hochschule Anhalt , Hochschule Bochum , Fachhochschule Lübeck , Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg , Hochschule Magdeburg-Stendal, Hochschule Würzburg-Schweinfurt  and EAH Jena.  

The conference lasted for 3 days, and included several presentations and sessions about future vision, plans and projects.
