On Wednesday, October 30, 2019, The “Reading for All Festival” opened in the library of the German Jordanian University in the presence of the representative of the Minister of Culture and Youth Minister Director of Madaba Culture Firas Al-Masri and the President of GJU Prof. Manar Fayyad, with participation of many students and faculty members.

The 13th edition of the Reading for All Festival (The Jordanian Family Library) is one of the pioneering national cultural programs implemented by the Ministry of Culture, which aims of encouraging reading, buying books and establishing a library in every home, from the human knowledge books that enrich the mind and conscience and publish it in an elegant edition. In addition to ensuring access to citizens at nominal prices ranging from (25) piasters for children's book and (35) piasters for adult books, where during the festival sold about (1000) books in different fields.

During the opening, Dr. Fayyad pointed out that the university is keen to be a beacon of culture and a center for the exchange of knowledge in the university and society. Expressing her pride in the students' readability and the acquisition of valuable books in various fields.

The Director of the library, Dr. Aziz Madi explained that the library plan includes the establishment of many cultural events that contribute to increase the awareness of students through reading and increase cooperation with various stakeholders in the dissemination Culture, headed by the Ministry of Culture, which contributes to the support of youth and the uplift of the homeland.

An artistic ceremony was held on the sidelines of the festival with the participation of four Jordanian artists who sang national songs.

The event will be repeated on December 29th due to its positive impact on encouraging people to read and spread the culture of book acquisition.
