Amman- 10 Febraury,2015 

 

On Tuesday 10th of February,2015  the International Office at the GJU organized a kick of meeting  for GJU students leaving to Germany second semester 2014/15.       

 

Dr. Dorothea Jecht, Director of the International Office emphasized the importance of such an annual meetings for ongoing students, offering advice, communicating important information, and supporting them during this big transition to Germany. 

 

Prof. Natheer Abu.Obeid, President of the GJU, expressed his happiness to meet with the outgoing students who are getting ready to leave their home country and go to Germany, as it is considered a benchmark and a milestone of a success of GJU.

 

The president emphasized that these students are the Jordan’s hope and bright future, and for those who want us back to dark centuries, we see the best response to them is to invest in our students. Moreover, he urged the outgoing students to seize the opportunity   and learn very well, making friends, bringing back great experience and building up a future career.

 

The representative of the German Ministry of Higher Education Mr. Hassenbach  said that the German exchange year is a great opportunity for the GJU students to interact with the culture and social life in Germany.

 

The meeting included several presentations by returnee students, like Muhsen Al bawab , who spoke about his own international experience  in Germany , the challenges he faced and shared lots of stories .

 

It is worth mentioning that the meeting was attended by Dr. Ines Geßner the Deputy Head of Mission -German Embassy / Amman, Prof. Manar Fayyad, the Vice President ,  Prof. Anton Mangstl,  Vice President for International Affairs, Dr. Yousef Al-Abdallat, Dean of Student Affairs, Mr. Andreas Wutz, Director of the DAAD IC Amman, and some of exchange officers, in addition to group of GJU academic and administrative staff.
