A delegation from the Palestinian Ahliya University in Bayt Lahm visited the German Jordanian University (GJU), to learn more about the university's experience and discuss future collaboration between the two universities the academic fields and joint projects.

The President of GJU Prof. Manar Fayyad introduced to the delegation’s members the story behind the establishment of GJU, which was based on a Royal Decree.

She added that the university was formed on the German applied-sciences model, characterized by their focus on putting knowledge into practice and on promoting knowledge transfer.

Fayyad explained the intensive procedures taken by the university to prepare the students for the German Year, such as the partnerships with applied German universities of about one hundred and twenty universities. As well as teaching six levels of German Language.

She pointed out that GJU also trains the students on soft skills, CV writing, besides encouraging them in participating in local and international contests in the areas of innovation and entrepreneurship through the Office for industrial Links (OIL) and the program of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (PIE).

For his part, the President of Palestinian Ahliya University, Dr. Awni Al-Khatib, praised the distinguished reputation GJU and its role in preparing an independent youth generation that contributes to building the future of their country.

He added that the Palestinian Ahliya University is looking forward to collaborating with GJU especially in joint programs in the fields of engineering, logistics, entrepreneurship and projects supported by Erasmus Plus.

The meeting was attended by Assistant to the President of Palestinian Ahliya University for Development, Dr. Labib Arfa.
