On Sunday, February 07, 2016 the GJU President Prof. Natheer Abu.Obeid honored GJU students from different schools on being awarded nationally ,  in the presence of GJU Vice President Prof. Manar Fayyad, Dean of the School of Applied Technical Sciences (SATS) Dr. Ziyad Masoud, Dean of the School of Applied Medical Sciences  Dr. Malyuba Abu- Daabes, and the MP  Mr. Jamal Qammu.

The President honored the student Omar Al Tamimi and his supervisor Dr. Anas Atieh from the School of Applied Technical Sciences (SATS) on winning the first place in the annual graduation projects competition that organized by the Jordanian Engineers Association and Amman Chamber of Industry. His graduation project titled “A Value Stream Mapping and Simulation Hybrid Application”, it was also published in September of last year in the top of international scientific journals, "the International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology".

 

The student Majd Alnajjar and her supervisors Dr. Ziad Abuelrub and Dr. Samer Gharableh from the pharmaceutical and chemical engineering department, School of Applied Medical Sciences (SAMS) were also honored on winning the third place among chemical engineering divisions in Jordan entitled “Investigating experimental correlation between Fischer Assay yield of oil shale and Thermo -gravimetric Analysis “( TGA).

 

Furthermore, Qamar Al-Tarawneh, Mechatronics Engineer in the Applied Technical Sciences School , was honored for the multi awards she have got.  She invented ABJAD which is a glove helps Deaf-Mute and hard hearing to speak and understand people who don’t know sign language, and won ​ the second prize in the pre-startups projects from The Queen Rania National Entrepreneurship Competition (QRNEC), the third rank in the Hadafi competition, and lately she was one of three projects that hosted​ in Italy to develop her project.

 

The student Nour Shammout was honored also along with her supervisor Dr. Yasser Rajjal. She received the Award of the Arab Women Organization 2015, of the Arab League Organizations. Her Masters Thesis in Spatial Planning, supervised by Dr. Yasser Rajjal, was considered as the best thesis, at the Arab world level, in the empowerment of Arab women.

 

Finally, Prof. Abu Obeid congratulated the students and Professors on being awarded and expressed his deep pride, stated that they are a great example of GJU students and teachers.
