In the frame of Young Arab Voices Program that was promoted by the British Council Jordan and the Anna Lindh Foundation, Imdad Media Center IMC  in cooperation with German Jordanian University  GJU organized a public debate at the university campus under the title of "the seriousness of the Jordanian political parties in engaging young people in its programs” .

The debate hosted Former Minister of Labour Dr. Abdul Hafiz Al- Shahhanbeh and Former Minister of Housing and Public Works Dr.Mohammad Taleb Obeidat, who both expressed their opinion about the seriousness of the Jordanian political parties in engaging young people in its programs. 

Dr. Abdul Hafiz Al- Shahhanbeh, elaborated that there are a lot of obstacles to get young people involved in the political parties work, stressing on the need to build a country where we disagree politically but not sectarian or regional.

For his part, Dr. Obeidat emphasized that the role of youth in political life is very central and essential, and that needs to provide an appropriate political environment, pointing out that political parties in Jordan can not attract young people because of the lack of a convinced programs economically, politically, socially and voluntary.

GJU President Professor Natheer Abu Obeid said that GJU is a house of enlightenment, works as a German machine, and supports any  program that can help students to express their  opinions like the Young Arab Voices Program that offers an excellent  platform for students to practice their public debate skills.

Following that, a debating competition was held between the Opposition Team from IMC and the Pro Team from GJU who finally won the competition.
