GJU Students to Attend SAP’s Dual Study Program to Gain Experience, as Organizations Support Jordan’s Next Generation Workforce

The German Jordanian University (GJU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SAP Training and Development Institute FZCO, based in Dubai, UAE, which aims to bring academia and industry closer together in a Dual Study Program.

The Dual Study Program will add industry related learning and hands-on working time to the overall experience of the students.

The MoU was signed by the President of the University, Prof Natheer Abu Obeid on behalf of the GJU, and the Senior Vice President of SAP, Ms Marita Mitschein on behalf of the SAP Training and Development Institute.

The MoU stipulates that the two sides will provide students with the opportunity to gain theoretical practice in SAP technology and workplace experience before they complete their studies.

Prof Abu Obeid emphasized that it is very important to GJU to cooperate with one of the largest software companies in the world, SAP, with this MoU marking and enhancing the future collaboration for the benefit of the students.

”The Dual Study Program is specifically designed to address some of today's most pressing business needs and it brings us great pleasure to have signed this MoU with GJU, ”said Ms Mitschein.

Ms Mitschein also stressed that the MoU brings Industry and Academia closer, adding that GJU is a regional leader in educational innovation, and in providing students with practical experience for joining Jordan’s networked economy.

It is worth mentioning that GJU had already signed as a participant of the SAP University Alliance Program which is a prerequisite for a university, here GJU, in becoming a Dual Study partner of SAP.

The signing was attended by the Vice Presidents of GJU Prof. Manar Fayyad and Prof. Anton Mangstl, some of the Deans,the Assistant to the President for Communications and Public Relations, Dr. Yaser Rajal, the Director of the Office for Industrial Links Britta Kähler , Dr. Christina Class, the central contact person for SAP University Alliances and GJU, and Dr Yaser Mowafi, who both deliver training on SAP for GJU students since 2013 as well as representatives from SAP Training and Development Institute, Dr Shadi Al-Khamayseh and Mr Mumen Suliman.
