Amman- 4 November ,2014

On Tuesday, the 4th of November,2014 the school of Natural Resources Engineering and Management (SNREM) at GJU was organized a scientific day and Master Program on Environmental and Renewable Energy Info day under the patronage of the GJU President, Prof. Natheer Abu.Obeid , and in the presence of the GJU Vice President Prof. Manar Fayyad , the deans as well as many guests that were invited from inside and outside the university.

Prof. Abu Obeid welcomed all the guests and expressed his pleasure to attend this important event, which is cover topics ranging from scientific research and projects to innovative approaches for technology implementation to analysis of social and environmental impacts of renewable energy.

 

The president emphasized that GJU and the whole society including individuals and organizations are responsible for serving the country and support any technological solution to transfer the solar energy to electricity into a conservative percentage.

Finally, he ends his opening speech by thanking his colleagues for organizing this little conference, wishing all the guests to have a fruitful day. 

 

For his part Prof. Suhail Kiwan, Dean of SNREM, briefed on the GJU and the school, its mission, departments, statistics, and spoke about the GJU Solar Energy Center “G-JUSEC “ which will give  the university and the country an additional component.

Prof. Kiwan gave also presentation entitled “Prospects of Renewable Energy” addressing the renewable energy challenges, Jordan renewable energy policy target and other main topics.

 

The Project Engineer form Institute for Waste Water and infrastructure –Management  (INFA) Dieter Oelgemöller , presented an introduction about INFA which is a German consulting and research company, established to intensify the technology transfer in environmental field and active in the field of developing waste management concepts for national / international projects since 1985. It focuses on environmentally friendly waste recovery, disposal logistics and  quality management along with related base analyses and organizational consulting.  

Furthermore, Eng. Oelgemöller elaborated about Management of E –Waste in EU/Germany and Management of E-Waste in Jordan.

As the day continued with several presentations by Dr. Qasem Abdel Al about Water and Environmental Engineering department, about the Energy Engineering department by Dr. Louay Qwaider, MAPEC Project by Dr. Muna Hindeyeh, Environmental and Renewable Energy MSc. Presentation by Dr. Munjid Al.Sharif, Waste Management Prospects in Jordan By Eng. Mustafa Ja’ar, Energy Engineering Chapter at GJU by Eng. Samer Zawaydeh and STS-MED Project  by prof. Ribhi Daa’mseh from Alhoson College.
