On Wednesday, the 4th of April 2018, the School of Management and Logistic Sciences (SMLS) at the German Jordanian University (GJU) organized a scientific seminar on “Positive Philosophy in Accounting Theory”, where Professor Riyadh Al-Abdullah from Yarmouk University was hosted as a guest speaker.
The Dean of SMLS, Dr. Malek Alsharairi, introduced the speaker, who is one of the distinguished academics in the field of Accounting Theory and International Accounting, and welcomed the audience.
Prof. Al-Abdullah gave an overview about the main streams of accounting research and focused on the roots and influences of positive philosophy in accounting theory. He reviewed the works of the most prominent scholars who influenced positivism in accounting research.
The seminar was attended by faculty members at the school and the students of Accounting Theory class.
At the end of the seminar, a scientific debate session was open between the audience and the guest speaker.
