Under the patronage of Her Excellency, The Secretary General of the DAAD Dr. Dorothea Rüland, The German Jordanian University celebrated the Sixth Annual Evening of Excellence that was held at GJU Campus - Water Wheel Garden on Thursday 28th of July 2016.

The Annual Evening of Excellence is the most successful and anticipated event at GJU, it aims at honoring distinguished students, distinguished faculty members, and distinguished administrative staff members, distinguished Industry partners, distinguished professors, and distinguished GJU entrepreneurs.     

Dr. Rüland stated that DAAD will continue its support for this successful binational university, it will continue also to promote the university intensely, as they consider it to be an important and innovative milestone of higher education in the middle east and one of the Germany’s most successful endeavors in the field of transnational education.

“Over the last ten years the university has brought forth exceptional talents and gained an exceptional reputation in the entire Arab world. The success of the graduates and of the university as a whole lies especially in the practically oriented education and the great commitment of its faculty and the all the staff of the GJU.”  Dr. Rüland said.

Professor. Natheer Abu Obeid, GJU President began his speech by thanking Dr.Rüland and DAAD for their strong and sustainable support, emphasizing that the partnership between the university and DAAD is absolutely a bright model to be followed in transitional education.

Professor Abu Obeid added that excellence is always about striving to do better, and for those who are going to be honored proved to be able to do better, because they performed consistently within the excellence value system of GJU that is always seeking to do better in the Jordanian higher education.       

On behalf of the honored students, Raed Haroun  expressed the students’ pride and happiness of being honored and being a true ambassadors of  GJU and Jordan in Germany, extending their thanks to their professors and instructors for supporting and directing  their skills and talents in the right direction.

It is worthy to mention that Dr. Rüland during her visit to GJU inaugurated the new building of the School of Applied Medical Sciences, where she listened to a brief about this new building that will be using as a labors ,  classrooms and offices.
