As part of the activities that enrich the experience of the Social Work students the Social Work Department -School of Applied Humanities and Languages (SAHL) at the German Jordanian University (GJU), held a lecture on Thursday, Jan 6 at the Glass cube at the School of Architecture and Built Environment (SABE), with the Human Rights activist and journalist Rana Al-Husseini.

Al-Hussein discussed the topic of her books “Years of Struggle (The Women’s Movement in Jordan)” and “Murder in the Name of Honor”. Through this lecture, she met with students of social work in the diploma and master's degrees.

The Head of the Social Work Department Dr. Bader Al-Madi welcomed the guest on behalf of the GJU President and the Dean of SAHL. He stressed that GJU will always seek to interact with the local and international community to enhance the student’s ability and capacity through such events.

Students discussed with Al-Husseini many issues that suit their specialty such as Gender in Conflict, Gender-Based Violence, in addition to the development of the women's movement in Jordan and women's rights knowing that students who enrolled in the two programs, MA and High Diploma Certificate, are Jordanians and students from all over the world especially Europe.
