Amman- 10 November 2021

For one week, six students studying International Engineering and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Sliman Shaikheleid from Hochschule Furtwangen University worked together with a group of six GJU Biomedical Engineering students and Dr. Sameer Hasan Head of Biomedical Engineering Department from the School of applied Medical Sciences (SAMS) on a project with the title: The comparison of medical technology in Jordan and Germany- becoming a part in the network, industry and scientific research.

During the stay, the German students got the opportunity to learn more about SAMS and had a lab tour in the SAMS building. Within the framework of the project, the students had working sessions on campus and visited the medical company AMSA as well as the Abdali hospital in Amman. Throughout their final presentation, the students emphasized how impressed they were with the modern equipment in the hospital.

In addition to the academic exchange, the group visited several touristic sites such as Petra, Wadi Rum, the Dead Sea, Aqaba and Jerash. In Wadi Rum, the students also met the second study group from the DHBW Mannheim. The Jordanian counterpart students supported the group and enabled a successful cultural exchange.

The Study Mobility Group is a transnational study project within the network of GJU and its partner universities in Germany to strengthen the exchange between Jordan/GJU and Germany/partner universities both on an academic and cultural level.
