On Sunday, 27 October 2019, Prof. Mustafa Arsan Jarrar from Palestine and Prof. Said Mohammed El-Banna from Egypt, who won the Abdul Hameed Shoman Award for Arab Researchers 2019, visited the German Jordanian University (GJU) to learn about the University, its programs and the nature of work in its various departments.

The winners were greeted by the President of GJU Prof. Manar Fayyad and the Dean of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Prof. Sahel Alawneh.

Fayyad presented an overview of the university and its specializations, noting that it was built in the same way as the German universities in Applied Sciences.

She also noted the university's keenness to promote the concepts of scientific research to contribute in developing education and find solutions to the challenges faced by societies.

The winners expressed their happiness with this visit and with the achievements of the university since its establishment and the level of its graduates.

Jarrar received the Shoman Award in the field of Technological and Agricultural Sciences / Computerization of the Arabic language, while Banna received the award in the field of Economic and Administrative Sciences / Strategic Planning and its impact on Public Administration.

The Abdul Hameed Shoman Award considers as the first Arab Award for Scientific Research, which was founded in 1982.
