The Vice-President of the German Bundestag Mrs. Edelgard Bulmahn paid a visit to the German Jordanian University after attending the graduation ceremony that was held under her patronage.
Speaking to the GJU President Prof. Natheer Abu Obeid and the GJU Vice Presidents Prof. Manar Fayyad and Prof. Dorit Schumann, Ms. Bulmahn thanked the University for awarding her the Honorary Doctorate, saying that it was an honor being appreciated and awarded by such a distinguished university.
She further discussed with the president several issues relating to the higher education and how to support the Syrian refuges and integrating the Syrian students into the Jordanian educational system to enable them to get the best education.
Moreover, Mrs. Bulmahn along with Prof. Abu Obeid visited the School of Architecture and Built Environment in Jabal Amman, where she was briefed on its role in conserving Jordan’s heritage through the restoration of the oldest sites in Amman and revitalizing the whole area. She also briefed on the school’s unique inter-disciplinary approaches and achievements.
It is worthy to mention that during the visit Mrs. Bulmahn met with a number of GJU academic staff and members.
