On Wednesday 4th of October 2017, The Social Work Department at the School of Applied Humanities and Languages (SAHL) and Consultation and Training Center (CTC) at German Jordanian University (GJU), organized a welcoming meeting for the third batch of the Professional Diploma “Migration and Refugees” with 35 participants from Jordan, Syria, Iraq, Germany, Somalia.

The President of GJU, Dr. Manar Fayyad explained the program’s role in producing qualified specialists in migration and refugees’ issues, indicating its importance in filling the national and international market needs.

She added that the Diploma that lasts for five months includes theoretical lectures and practical training inside specific organization, which has a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with GJU for the purposes of implementing the program.

From her side the head of the Department Dr. Sahar Makhamreh clarified that the Diploma funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) attract students from all over the world given the diverse skills acquired by participants and its positive effect on their performance.

At the end of the meeting, the students and the attendees watched a documentary about the Diploma program and previous projects of former students.
