On Sunday 18th of February 2018, The International Office (IO), at the German Jordanian University (GJU), organized a welcoming meeting for 32 new exchange students who joined from 21 German, Lithuania and Belgian Universities, to study for one semester at GJU.

The GJU President Prof. Manar Fayyad encouraged the students to engage with colleagues from GJU and community to learn Jordanian customs and traditions, and establish new friendships.

She also encouraged them to take advantage of the Arabic language course and participate in field trips to learn about the history and the most important tourist and religious sites in Jordan.

Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Dorit Schumann, stressed the importance of intergenerational cultural and academic exchange as a reciprocal process in which Jordanian students travel to Germany and vice versa.

On another hand, Vice President Dr. Atef Al-Kharabsheh explained that GJU believes in the positivity of differences between cultures and human beings to spread peace and coexistence among each other.

At the end of the meeting, the coordinators of the scientific exchange presented an explanation to the students about how to register and choose the courses and guide them to the departments concerned to answer their questions.
