Amman- 13 November 2018

GJU’s Program Innovation and Entrepreneurship (PIE) organized a Workshop on “Business Model Innovation”. The purpose of this workshop was to inform students with the competitions that they could take part in, along with a training on Business Model Innovation to help them take part in such competitions. It aims at helping students to gain the knowledge and entrepreneurial skills needed to implement their ideas and support the vision of the German Jordanian University (GJU) in its “Education for Employment and Entrepreneurship”.

The Business Model Training took place at “The Tank” by Umniah at the King Hussein Business Park (KHBP) on Saturday the 3rd of November, 2018. It was organized in collaboration with the GJU Students Concrete Club.

At the beginning of the day, competitions were introduced from Hult Prize, Bedaya (Spark), Enjaz, The Tank IOT Hackathon (IBTECAR) and Queen Rania Centre. Later that day, Engineer Jamil Khatib from GJU’s Program Innovation and Entrepreneurship (PIE) started with the Business Model Innovation training. The purpose of the training is to get students familiar with developing business plans to start working on their projects. The link will take you to the material given by Eng. Jamil Khatib:

At the end of the workshop, the students were given a tour at TechWorks by Crown Prince Foundation, which is a technical prototyping platform for innovation and invention, providing stimulus for local entrepreneurship, to get the students more familiar with the equipment that might help them while building their projects.

The main reason behind organizing this workshop was to support the teams participating in the Hult Prize, which is led by the student Gheed Rousan and the organizing committee. We are so glad to see that we have many interested students participating. Around 60 students have joined the workshop, and 30 teams were formed so far. Looking forward to many more successful workshops.

We are looking forward to many more successful workshops to ensure the quality of the ideas that will be presented on the 13th of December.
