As part of its activities to enhance the cooperation between the university and industrial partners, the school of applied technical sciences (SATS) was honored to host Eng. Malik Al Bakri, the Warehouse Manager at Fine Hygienic holding / Keena and Snobar Paper Mills. Dr. Anas Atieh, Assistant Dean for Quality Assurance in coordination with Dr. Hisham, ElMoaqet, Assistant Dean for Industrial links and Training organized a workshop on inventory and warehouse management.

The workshop covered an introductory aspects of inventory management models, best industrial practices and a history of successful case study on operations improvements. The workshop was on two sessions and lasted for four hours where 19 SATS students were lectured by the guest as a part of production planning and inventory control class offered in the industrial engineering department.

The workshop bridged the gap between theory and practice and made it easier for the students to imagine and implement the theoretical information given in the course. The lecture was followed by a meeting with SATS Dean Dr. Alaaldeen Al-Halhouli and the Director of the office of industrial links (OIL) Ms. Britta Kaehler, to discuss the importance of building a sustainable collaboration between SATS and Industry to share knowledge and benefits to improve both sectors.
