On Thursday, 18th December, the Deanship of Student Affairs organized a workshop for GJU students under the title “New Arab Debates” in order to develop student’s debate methods, also to teach them the proper way to debate.

The New Arab Debate organization is well-positioned to continue promoting free speech in the region and tackling the most controversial issues. Crucially, they will provide the only robust and independent platform of its kind from the Middle East, designed primarily for young Arabs.

Dr. Yousef Alabdallat, Dean of Student Affairs, said that the German Jordanian University is focusing on enhancing the debate methods among students in order to make them Decision Makers in their countries and to take reach high positions in life.

Ms. Tanya Sakzewski, the official representative of the organization focused on the importance of fact-based question-asking and the role of research. She demonstrated the modern ways of conducting debates, and how to prepare worksheets.

At the end of the workshop, Ms. Sakzewski said: “It was my pleasure to be at GJU and meet well educated students”.
