The Deanship of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research at German Jordanian University organized a workshop about Quality Assurance and Accreditation in the presence of the GJU Vice President Prof Manar Fayyad and number of academic and administrative staff on Thursday October 27,2016.
Prof Manar Fayyad stressed the importance of working on the quality assurance and accreditation procedures at GJU besides the implementation of the accreditation procedures and guidelines that could help us to avoid any kind of problem in the educational and scientific process. And that the university as an educational institution should develop and implement a strategy for the continuous enhancement of quality.
Prof. Salem Al- Agtash Dean of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research highlighted some of the most important quality assurance standards, pointing out that quality assurance in universities is a rising global challenge and it is a process of establishing stakeholder confidence that provision ( input, process and outcomes) fulfills expectations or measures up to threshold minimum requirements.
For her part Dr. Laila Yaghi Assistant to the President for Admission and Registration and Quality Assurance spoke about the accreditation processing in the higher educational institutions in the Jordanian Universities, mentioning some of the criteria of the Jordanian universities ranking, teaching and learning that reflects the quality of teaching process and its outcomes, scientific research, international dimension and quality of graduates.
Dr. Anas Atieh from the School of Applied Technical Sciences gave a presentation about general quality assurance and accreditation standards and comparing them with Higher Education Accreditation Commission , FIBAA and ASIIN standards.
Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Graduate School of Business (TAG-SB) participated also in the workshop represented by its dean Dr. Mamoun Akroush who elaborated about the TAG-SB ‘s efforts during the last years working on the quality assurance and accreditation procedures trying to achieve its strategic goals in the school in cooperation with his assistant Dr. Majdy Zreiqat who also gave a brief about TAG-SB ‘s achievements and efforts regarding the FIBAA.
The workshop included a wide discussion , questions and answers among the attendees.
