On Thursday 14th of December 2017, The Electronic and Electrical Engineering (AEE) club at the German-Jordanian University (GJU), organized a workshop on "Technical Writing" conducted by Dr. Murad Samshouri.
Dr. Samhouri explained that the aim of the workshop is to teach students how to write efficiently, provide useful reports, determine the purpose of writing and target audience, stressing the importance of distinguishing possible gaps in targeted audiences such as the extent of knowledge, abilities and interests.
He specified general elements to focus on while writing any document like clarity, coherence, directness, and the use of efficient wording.
The topics of the workshop included practical applications in writing business reports, e-mail, memos, business presentations, tables and charts, besides teaching the students the necessary skills to deliver presentations successfully.
