Selection and

Allocation Process

An independent Scholarship Committee is selecting the scholarship holders. Depending on the data available, the selection process might continue even if the semester has already started.

Scholarship seats will first be allocated to the highest-ranked applicant within each major. If the number of majors exceeds the number of available seats, the highest-ranked applicants of each major will compete against one another, and the seats will be awarded to those with the highest total scores (majors with the lowest top scores will not receive a seat in this case). If seats remain after allocating to the top-ranked applicants per major, the remaining seats will be awarded based on the highest total score, regardless of major.

Duration

One semester-long (the study semester of the German Year).

Extension

Due to the nature of this scholarship, no extension is possible.

Eligibility

In general, all regularly enrolled undergraduate students at GJU are eligible. For the German Year scholarships, only the students meeting all requirements for leaving to Germany are eligible.
