Biography

Walid graduated from Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) with a bachelor degree in Biotechnology & Genetic Engineering (accredited by (ASIIN) a German Agency for Study Programmes of Engineering, Information Science, Natural Sciences and Mathematics), and then earned a Master's degree in Biotechnology from Yarmouk University (YU). He then joined the King Hussein Cancer Centre (KHCC).

Walid earned his PhD in Pathology from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Sydney, Australia where he aimed to combine his molecular pathology background with new biophysical techniques. He is certified by the HEAC to teach Human Physiology for students. His postgraduate research project focused on the small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) approach to resolve the architecture and conformational changes of an unusual bacterial transcription factor involved in amino acid metabolism in a work published in Nucleic Acids Research (NAR), a highly reputed Oxford University Journal with an impact factor of 9.112 in 2015.

Educational Background

Ph.D. degree in Medical Sciences, Pathology, Faculty of Medicine, The University of New South Wales (UNSW), Australia.

Research Interests

Walid has a significant research interests in Pathology at the molecular level. In addition, Walid has applied for seed research fund at the German Jordanian University to specifically start his new project on Human Microbiota.
