The President of the German Jordanian University (GJU), Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, welcomed the Algerian cultural attaché in Amman, Muhammad Khelifi, in the presence of the Vice-President, Prof. Ziyad Haddad, and the Director of Edu- Syria Program, Dr. Dhiah Abou-Tair.

During the meeting, Dr. Al-Halhouli pointed out the university's interest in developing cultural relations with educational establishments in Algeria to provide the opportunity for Algerian youth to study at the German Jordanian University, given the excellence of its academic system and its outputs at the local, regional and international levels.

Dr. Al-Halhouli added that the university is keen on cultural cooperation with Algeria, which would increase the bonds of collaboration and coordination between the two sides to extend the benefit of the Algerian youth.

For his part, Dr. Abu Tair gave a briefing on the Syrian-Jordanian education program run by the University in cooperation with several local and international partners and with the support of the European Union / the European Union Regional Trust Fund for the Response to the Syrian Crisis (Madad) and the European Neighborhood Mechanism.

Dr. Abu Tair indicated that the program had provided more than 3,000 scholarships so far to Jordanian youth, as well as to Syrian refugees benefiting from charitable support institutions, to pursue higher education, vocational education, or technical training, in addition to other diplomas and programs related to entrepreneurship, labor market preparation, or summer programs for high school students.
