H. E. Ms. Birgitta Maria Siefker-Eberle visited the German Jordanian University on Wednesday 17 September 2015. The recently appointed Ambassador discussed the academic and scientific cooperation between the Embassy and the University.

 

Prof. Natheer Abu Obeid, GJU President, expressed his hope in further expanding the cooperation between Germany and the University, especially that the university is considered a cultural bridge between Jordan and the Arab World and Germany as well as other European countries.

 

He also stressed on the importance of the German year, in which students spend six months studying in a German university and the other six doing an internship in a German industry, company or institution.

 

H. E. Ms. Siefker-Eberle praised the excellence level of the university and its reputation, and its concern with the applied side of learning. H. E also noted the importance of coordinating between both parties to implement different educational projects that serve bith the Jordanian and Arab youth.

 

Dr. Yasser Rajjal, Assistant to the President for Communication and Public Relations, demonstrated a presentation about the story of GJU, since its establishment until now, highlighting the programs that the University offers and its relationship with both private and public sectors.

 

At the end of the meeting, attended by Prof. Manar Fayyad, Vice President at GJU and Dr. Dorothea Jecht, Director of the International Office, the delegation toured around the campus and the labs.
