The German Jordanian University (GJU) announced the beginning of the training course Energy Efficiency of the German Energy Academy, which comes within a project to support the partnership in the energy field with Jordan, supported by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).

During his welcome speech, the project coordinator and faculty member in the School of Natural Resources Engineering and Management (SNREM) at GJU, Dr. Aiman Al-Batayneh, emphasized the importance of the program, as it was designed for accreditation from the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK), after undergoing an exam at the end of the course to obtain a certificate of practicing the profession.

Al-Batayneh added that the participants gain the necessary skills in the rapidly growing renewable energy market and directly enter the job market in Germany as certified engineers and technicians in the field of energy efficiency.

The course targets technicians and students of electrical, mechanical, and energy engineering. Its duration is two months, with 80 theoretical hours and 160 practical hours incorporated with field visits provided by SNREM's engineers, Muhammad Ayyash, Omar Al-Sotari, Faisal Al-Matar, and Ahmed Qattan, in addition to engineer Sondos Al-Mashaleh and engineer Sana Al-Khatib, all of whom are high qualifies specialists and have experience in the field.

It is worth noting that the course provides graduates with knowledge about energy auditing methods and economic calculations for energy auditing with the necessary knowledge of laws and regulations in Jordan, in addition to the ability to monitor energy consumption and the devices used and implement energy efficiency in residential, commercial and industrial buildings.
