Amman- April 3, 2017 

On 3rd of April, 2017 the German Jordanian University’s Program Innovation and Entrepreneurship (PIE) hosted an open session by members of the Berlin Entrepreneurship Foundation, at the King Hussein Business Park, in the innovation space of Umniah - The Tank. The presentation was held by Dr. Johanna Richter and Simon Joachim from the Foundation and based on the book “Brains versus Capital” of Professor Günther Faltin who founded the Berlin Entrepreneurship Foundation in 2001.

Professor Faltin opened the presentation through a conversation with Dr. Richter and the audience via Skype, about the role of an entrepreneur in present-days societies, his company the Tea Campaign, entrepreneurial spirit and advices for future entrepreneurs.

In addition to that Jamil Alkhatib introduced the Program Innovation and Entrepreneurship (PIE) to the audience and explained its activities. The program was established in 2013 in order to support Technology Transfer, Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The program will officially open its Innovation Space on the 12th of April at the university main campus in Madaba in building M ground floor. The Program’s mission is to create an innovation and startup culture at the GJU.

Johanna Richter and Simon Joachim then gave more insights into the book “Brains versus Capital” and presented its main ideas using practical examples. 

Moreover, they introduced Berlin Entrepreneurship Foundation, which provides the so called “Entrepreneurship Campus” on the internet, where people can find dates for the Foundation’s events, the annual entrepreneurship summit, information about competitions, and inspiring videos from entrepreneurs out of all areas of society.

The event ended with an open discussion about possible collaboration opportunities and common activities.
