On August 5th 2018, The School of Applied Humanities and Languages (SAHL) – Social Work Department at the German Jordanian University (GJU), has welcomed its MOU partner Caritas Jordan, a humanitarian charity non- governmental organization, with a delegation of Caritas volunteers from Germany, Spanish, Italy and France, who are participating in a youth camp in Al Salt .
The aim of this visit was to give them an insight about GJU and to introduce the social work Master and Professional Diploma programs, beside the role of the department in responding to the humanitarian needs in the region as well as arming the community with professionalized social workers.
The German Jordanian University signed its Memorandum of Understanding with Caritas Jordan on July 13thth 2016, where both parties agreed on cooperating to spread the specialized knowledge concerning migration and refugees issues. Caritas Jordan plays an essential role in providing training opportunities in the field of training, facilitating the process of networking, symposiums, and scientific conferences for the students of Social Work department.
