On Thursday 27th of July 2018, The German-Jordanian University celebrated the graduation of 200 children from the local community who participated in the first summer club, which was organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs (DSA), in cooperation with Kolona Alordon Association and Hessban Association.

Vice President of GJU, Dr. Atef Kharabsheh, stressed that the university believes in the importance of its pioneering role in the development of the local community and the rehabilitation of its citizens, in addition to building a participatory relationship with its institutions to enrich their expertise and knowledge.

The Dean of DSA, Dr. Raed Khasawneh, the President of Kolona Alordon Association, Hada Al-Sawaier and Dr. Sulaiman Shehan, President of the Hassban Association delivered speeches in which they expressed their thanks and gratitude for the university's contribution to the service and development of the local community.

The summer club, which included volunteers from students and the charitable associations, included educational and recreational activities. Participants received classes in languages and mathematics, handcrafts such as soap and wax, and weekly field trips to museums and monuments.

During the ceremony, the graduates performed entertaining shows and a short video of the club's activities was displayed.

 At the end, Kharabsheh honored the contributors, sponsors and volunteers, as well as handing over school bags to the graduates.
