The German Jordanian University (GJU) signed a cooperation agreement with the Crown Prince Foundation, aimed to work jointly to encourage GJU students to engage in volunteer work and enable them to participate in activities and projects to improve society and spread a culture of giving and social responsibility.

The agreement was signed on behalf of the university by its president, Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, and on behalf of the Foundation, its CEO, Dr. Tamam Mango.

The agreement specified the activation of Nahno platform, a national platform for volunteering and youth participation, one of the Foundation's initiatives that was launched in partnership with the United Nations Children's Fund UNICEF in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth. In addition, publishing volunteer work and projects, providing the students the chance to apply for these projects, keeping records of students' volunteer projects and the number of volunteer hours completed by each student, besides creating special accounts that grant the students access to the platform.

For his part, Dr. Al-Halhouli emphasized that youth are the nation's present and future, and therefore we should facilitate the channels to assist them to engage in voluntary work that would develop their skills and intellect and enable them to serve their society and their country.

In turn, Dr. Mango indicated that the Foundation is working to promote a wide range of development concepts among youth, explaining that volunteering is one of these concepts, as it is essential in developing youth skills and enhancing their capabilities. She added that the launch of the Hussein Bin Abdullah II Award for Voluntary Work would elevate the spirit of initiative, innovation, and excellence among young people, in addition to organizing and advancing volunteer efforts in Jordan.
